Marsha Lewis Obituary

Marsha Ann was born July 16, 1961 at Community Hospital (the old Dow Hospital) in Freeport, Texas, to Nathan Lewis, Jr. and Rosie Lemons Lewis. Marsha was reared by her grandparents, Nathan Lewis, Sr. and Katy Lewis and dwelled and grew up alongside Sharion and Robert as siblings instead of cousin and uncle respectively.  She attended school in the Sweeny ISD and was a graduate of the class of 1980.  Marsha was a kindhearted, loving and dedicated individual who took great pride in being a joyful, fun loving, life of the party, kind of lady. She loved to sing and dance, especially zydeco and have a good time.

Marsha joined church at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.  She also spent time as a member at Jerusalem Baptist Church and Better Days Ministries.  She united with the Burrell Chapel Baptist Church (Baileys Prairie) and was a faithful member until her health failed.  Even after going into a facility, she would watch service via Facebook when she could connect.

Marsha toughed many lives and was an excellent employee, especially as a home-care provider.  She took great pride in rendering the best care to her patients.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nathan, Sr. and Katy Lewis and Richard and Hattie Lemons; father, Nathan Lewis, Jr.; brother, Rodney Lewis; paternal aunt, Betty Thompson; paternal uncle, Robert Lewis, Sr. and cousins, Sharion Higgins Parker and Phillip Smith III.

She leaves to treasure her memories, two sons, Johnathan “Sam” Lewis and Kaemon Tims; 6 grandchildren; mother, Rosie Williams, LaMarque; 3 aunts, Eliza Smith, Angleton, Lonita Lewis, West Columbia and Bessie Jammer (Willie), Brazoria; 1 great uncle, Randolph Mack (Gladys); 2 great aunts, Rebecca Grice and Elizabeth Godley; 4 siblings, Rhonda Warner (Gregory); Donnell Lewis (Denise), Sheila Johnson-Gaston and Robert J. Lewis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted classmates and adoring friends.
