Abiy Michael Hagos was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on March 29, 1978 to Michael Hagos and Almaz Abebe. Abiy was raised in a loving home with his mother, grandmother (Negatua Belayneh), and brother until the age of 14 when they moved to US to be with his father, Michael. Abiy, his brother Keke, and mother Etete moved from Ethiopia to Beaumont Texas in 1992. Abiy graduated from high school in May 1996. On January 23, 1997 Abiy joined the United States Army. He served from 1997 to 2000 in Fort Hood Texas and deployed to Bosnia. Abiy became a father on July 4, 2000 when Shamar Hagos was born. A short 13 months later Marcos Hagos was born on August 7, 2001. In January 2003 Abiy was mobilized with the 4003rd Garrison support unit out of Fort Hood Texas. It was at this time he met his future wife Valencia. On June 28, 2005 they welcomed their third son Isaiah Hagos. Abiy and Valencia were married on April 1, 2006 in Beaumont, TX. After waiting years for his princess, Aden Hagos was born on October 5, 2010. Abiy adored his children and family. He was proud to work hard to provide for his family.
In 2018 he received his Bachelors Degree in Business Management. Abiy worked for Department of The Army and was a Staff Sergeant (SSG) in the Army National Guard. Abiy loved the beach, was looking forward to retirement, and moving abroad. Most of all, he was looking forward to being a grandfather. Along with cherished memories and a beautiful legacy, Abiy leaves behind his loving wife, Valencia Hagos of Iowa colony; three loving sons Shamar Hagos of Houston Texas; Marcos Hagos of Hawaii; and Isaiah Hagos of Iowa Colony; his daughter and princess Aden Hagos of Iowa Colony; mother Almaz Abebe of Washington DC; brother Melake Hagos of Dallas Texas; and a host of loving relatives and friends. Abiy Michael Hagos is preceded in death by his father Michael Hagos and grandmother Negatua Belayneh.
