ARTHUR JAMES MOTEN was born on December 2, 1931 to Demps and Lucy Moten in Crockett, TX. He graduated from Crockett High School. He was employed by Stowe Lumber Company as a truck driver. In May of 1953 he enlisted into the United States Army where he served for 3 years in Fort Hood, TX.
He later met and married Stella Robertson. They raised 4 children together. In his spare time he loved watching old westerns and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters Azlene Moten and Ruthie Thomas.
He leaves to cherish the memories, his life and legacy five children, Shirley Leonard, Floyd Thompson (Hazel), Thelma "Tammy" Willis (Roger), Maurice Williams, and Chris Allen Moten; one brother Mack Moten; nieces Pamala Martir and Rhonda Thomas; nephews Terrence Terry Thomas and Keith Wiley; grandchildren Josette Hubbard, (Darryl), Desiree Willis, Sharon Johnson, Kendrick Thompson, Ciarra Thompson and O'Nyia; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
