Bernice Davis

It was in Nineteen Hundred and Thirty Nine the year of our Lord that Bernice Davis was born to Cornelia Duncan and Marshall Davis in Winnsboro, LA. Upon moving to Houston, Tx she worked at Piccadilly’s Cafeteria where she worked as a server without a 12th grade education. Being determined she worked and became gainfully employed by HISD, she started out cutting grass and worked her way up to head custodian. She retired early so she could care for her Mother Cornelia Duncan in New Orleans, LA. She loved the Lord and made sure we were in church on Sunday’s when we were younger. She loved everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever she could. Our Mom didn’t have the best education in the world, yet she was the best Mother in the world to us.

Sister Bernice Davis departed this life at 80 years of age, sick and weak but she fought until the very end. She still remembered us and was still feisty until she took her last breath with her kids and some of her Grandkids around her just as she wanted. She left this world to be with the Lord March 22nd, 2020.

She leaves behind 2 sons John E Davis & Reginald D. Davis, 2 Daughters Christina D Johnson & Commentha LaJoyce Davis, 5 Grandkids Gergory Davis, Christopher Davis, Harold Johnson, Gina Washington and John D Davis. 2 Daughter in Laws Cynthia Davis andHelen Davis. 5 Great Grandchildren J’Kaila Davis, Diamond A. Davis, Jayden D. Davis, Dewayne D Johnson and Penelope B Davis. She was preceded in death by her Mother Cornelia Duncan, her Father Marshall Davis,and two Great Grandchildren Sandra Davis and Brastaya Davis.
