Delores N. Booker went home to her Lord on Saturday, December 20, 2020. Delores passed away at West Methodist Hospital in Katy Texas from complication brought on by COVID. Delores was born on February 21, 1943, to Mat Norman and Viola
(Wharton) Norman in Glen Flora Texas. She has spent all her life in the Wharton Texas area. As a young girl, she was a member of Eastern Star. She graduated from T.L. Pink High School then attended Wharton Community College to become a dietician. She worked as a dietician for Cartwheel Lodge Development Center. She loved her church, Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir, served on the kitchen committee and a missionary for the church. Delores loved to read, cook, shop, travel and helping others. She was a mentor and a friend to all who needed her.
Delores was proceeded in death by her parents Matt and Viola Norman, her sister Roberta Watson, her son Stacy Lee, her granddaughter Savannah Holan, grandson Byron D Norman Jr., great granddaughters Erica, Erin, Zion and Promise. Delores is survived by her son Byron D. Norman (Erran), daughter Tracy Vohwinkle (Ron), granddaughters LaTasha NaSha Norman, Mariah Danita Norman, Molly Jalisa Norman and Lillee Mae. Grandsons Matthew T. Vohwinkle, Phillip J. Vohwinkle and Kelton Buettner. Great Grand Children Ebony, Vernon, Angel, Lania, Taylor, Detraon, Deshawn, and Sincere.
Due to the continuing treat from COVID, there will be a small family ceremony on Saturday January 2, 2021, at 1:00 pm. There will be a virtual broadcast for others to view and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations in Delores name be made to: NORD (National Order of Rare Diseases donate@rarediseases.org) and Houston ASPCA.
